THE golden girl is back. TV darling Lisa McCune has been nominated for gold in this year's TV Week Logie Awards.

If she wins, the mother of three will equal veteran TV newsman Ray Martin's haul of five Gold Logies, but she will still be behind Graham Kennedy, who holds the record of six.

The nominations will not be officially revealed until tomorrow, but the Sunday Herald Sun understands that McCune, who stars as officer Kate McGregor, in Channel 9's hit drama series Sea Patrol, is one of eight television personalities up for the prestigious Gold Logie

Last year's Gold Logie winner, Kate Ritchie, variety show host Rove McManus, All Saint's veteran John Howard and Neighbours favourite Natalie Blair are all strongly tipped to be among the nominations for TV most coveted trophy.

McCune's nomination would mark the seventh time she has been up for the Gold Logie.

McCune first tasted fame in 1994, as young Constable Maggie Doyle on Channel 7's rural police drama Blue Heelers.

The role turned her into Australia's sweetheart.

She won the Most Popular New Talent Logie in 1995, a Silver Logie for most popular actress in 1996 and then took the gold in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.

McCune will not be attending the nominations breakfast in Sydney tomorrow. She will be in Melbourne where she is performing in the stage musical Guys and Dolls.

The show had its opening at the Princess Theatre last night.
